Subject: Casanova – the world’s greatest womaniser!
Lecturer: Angela Chantry
Casanova has become so famous for his often complicated and elaborate affairs with women that his name is now synonymous with “womaniser”. He was recognised by his contemporaries as an extraordinary person, a man of far-ranging intellect and curiosity and there was, indeed, much more to Casanova’s life than the stories about the many women he seduced. Born in Venice on the 2nd April 1725, he was a writer, poet, alchemist, diplomat, philosopher and Italian secret agent, a citizen of the Republic of Venice. This presentation will give an insight into the man and the many diverse facets of his character.
