Almost 300 U3A Moraira-Teulada members including a few guests celebrated King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation by partying in Font Santa on the afternoon of May 8th. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a celebration.
Members brought their own drinks and nibbles and were then treated to a hog roast lunch and music by the ever popular Duo Intermezzo. Members did quite a lot of flag waving and singing to Land of Hope and Glory and, of course, the National anthem. Quite a few members had their photos taken with Charles and Camilla. ( Cardboard cut out version – their Majesties were unable to take a break from their busy schedule to join us in Spain )
Many thanks to Tony Old, our Social Events Organiser, and his team of helpers for making the day so successful.
Black Glitter were the second music act and they got people dancing the afternoon away. All in all, a splendid afternoon, and one that showed support for the monarchy was alive and well here in Spain.
