During two evenings in February, the Dining Out group went to the Olive Tree restaurant in Moraira. This venue has always been popular with the group, and with the last event being held there in November 2019, it was a welcome return. A total of 83 diners enjoyed a really excellent meal provide by Sandra and her team who supplied varied dishes to satisfy very different palates.
After arriving, everyone was offered a welcome glass of cava. To start, diners could choose from a home made chicken liver pate, warm sesame goats cheese, a spiced fishcake, all served with different chutneys and salad, or a delicious tomato and basil soup. After a refreshing sorbet, perfectly cooked cod, boneless lamb, iberico pork loin or a choice of three Thai green curries were offered as main courses. A white chocolate cheesecake, a delicious mango and passion fruit posset or the ever popular sticky toffee pudding rounded off a delightful meal. Those who were already stuffed full after the main course could opt for a liqueur coffee instead.
With tables of 6 or 8 people, it was really good to see so many people enjoying good friendship and conversation over an excellent meal, after having restrictions of one sort or another for such a long time.
The Olive Tree provided us with a warm welcome, and a beautifully cooked and presented meal delivered with attentive service. The restaurant fully lived up to its reputation in providing a delightful evening of good food at an affordable price.
