We are holding a General Meeting on Zoom for any members who wish to join us on Monday 7th June at 10.30. This is going to be a test run for future meetings and for our AGM, which has been delayed due to Covid restrictions, until we are able to meet in person. We will be giving you an update on our finances, our group activities, and social activities. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions, and to meet your Committee. You can submit questions in advance by emailing Pat Clarke by 31 May. For those unfamiliar with meetings on Zoom, we have included the basic instructions below. I am also very pleased to announce that Sara Richardson will be joining us to give an update on Teulada-Moraira Council activities. Sara is now on the local government team, responsible for Social Services, Animal welfare, Volunteering and Integration and International Relations. You will also have the opportunity to ask Sara questions. AGENDA Presidents Address Treasurers Report Groups & Travel report Social Report Membership Liaison AOB Guest Speaker – Address by Sara Richardson (Councillor Teulada ā Moraira) How to join a Zoom meeting In order to participate in a Zoom meeting, all you need is a computer, (desktop, laptop, tablet or even a smart phone) and an internet connection. You do not need to download the Zoom app, but it may be easier if you do. Register for the meeting by emailing Pat Clarke, Membership Secretary Closer to the 7th June, we will send an email containing a link to the Zoom Meeting Room we are using for the meeting. The link contains the Meeting ID and password which is unique to our U3A. Joining the meeting: Simply click on the link in the email just before the meeting is due to start at 10:30. You will go straight to the Zoom meeting. Alternatively, you can enter the meeting ID number and passcode in the āJoin Meetingā section on the Zoom website or app. When you are joining, click on ‘use videoā and then āuse internet audioā buttons. During the meeting: Audience members will be muted to avoid background noise, but you can ask to speak at the meeting by using the hand icon or ask question using the āChatā bar. Asking questions: On a desktop or laptop, click Chat in the meeting control bar at the bottom or side of the screen On a mobile device tap the screen to make the control bar appear, then tap Participants and at the bottom of the list tap Chat. The chat bar/screen shows the chat history and in here you can write and share messages (similar to texting). All the meeting participants will be able to see what you post.
