In the UK this is normally called Lawn Bowls and played outside on grass. In
Spain grass is not really an option and so we play on carpet, which enables us
to bowl throughout the year.
We are fortunate to be able to play at the Benitachell Bowls Club which is at the
bottom of Camino De La Torreta, Benitachell. The greens are first class, having
just recently been completely re-laid. Because it is a private club, we do have to
abide by their rules, which while not onerous, must be complied with. Basically
to play you need to wear bowling shoes and have access to a set of bowls
(woods). You do not have to wear whites.
We have all types of players, both experienced and novices. Some of us are
here throughout the year; others come and go because they still have homes
elsewhere. All are very welcome.
