It’s that time of year again, and I don’t mean Valentine’s Day. I mean the time when Spain’s most dangerous creatures appear.
I’m talking about the Pine Processionary caterpillars that make nests in the pine trees of Spain. Don’t underestimate them, they are deadly. Keep your pets away from them, and don’t try to destroy them yourself.
We have just seen the longest procession near Vista Montana Benitachell. We have now run over them several times to ensure a quick death.
It’s important not to step on them, as the poison hairs get caught in your shoes, and can be brought into your home. Last year the Teulada Moraira Ayuntamiento sprayed the woodland area by the beach where the new doggy area is now.
